Muse Of The Month: Lady Gaga

Muse of the Month is back is and could it be anyone else than Mama Monster aka Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta aka Lady Gaga. Have you listened to Lagy Gaga's new album Joanne? Lady Gaga definitely has the most extravagant style in the music industry nowadays. She always reinvents her style and she is not afraid to shock the world with her outfit choices. I find it really inspiring and I have big respect for Lady Gaga, not only as a style icon, but as a human being and as an artist, which she is with a capital A.

Muse Of The Month: Barbie

It's almost the end of April (and Vappu in Finland! Already?), but here it is - The Muse of April: a girl who's been a significant part of little girls' life since 1959.

To me, Barbie was my first fashion icon. I was born in 1995 and I have a big sister who's six years older than me, so my Barbies were from 90s to 00s, but I think we had some late 80s Barbies too, which is cool. Our collection of Barbies was really big (and still is), from typical 90s Barbies to collectors Barbies, Disney princesses, the whole collection of 1998 and 1999 Generation Girls and a lot of different fashionista Barbies from the 00s. Even though I grew up during the era when Barbie wasn't the only popular doll available, it was always my favorite.

I've loved clothes and fashion as long as I can remember, and I think Barbie is the one to blame, along the genes from my mother of course. I always loved to dress Barbies and I had a huge collection of their clothes. I even have some unique pieces that my mother's friend sew for Barbies.

Barbie's style has changed during the decades and it varies between different Barbies, but the characteristic style of Barbie is very pink, girly and colorful. Just like Jeremy Scott's Spring/Summer 2015 collection for Moschino: matchy tops and bottoms, fun prints, roller skates and bubble gum pink.

Muse Of The Month: Whitney Houston

February's almost over, but here's the Muse of the Month - Whitney Houston (9.8.1963-11.2.2012). I got inspired by her 80's style and picked some items so you could get the look.

Whitney's style in the 80's and early 90's was fun, girly and feminine. The 80's was all about shoulder pads, mom jeans, bright colors and big hair. Whitney is a good example of that era. I especially love that blue jean, white top and leather jacket look. I'm also seriously considering a perm, not as wild as Whitney's hair though, but maybe a 'surf perm'.

Muse of The Month: Avril Lavigne

I chose this month's muse based on the theme that I'm having this week on the blog. After 2002, when I saw the music video Complicated for the first time, I became a huge fan of Avril Lavigne for about a decade. She is the one who has influenced me the most. I've had posters of her on my walls, been to her concert two times, I have all of her albums during 2002-2011, I even bought her fragrances and some clothes from her clothing line Abbey Dawn. So, yes, I was pretty hardcore fan. Sometimes I still found myself listening Under My Skin, her second album, which is possibly my most listened album ever.

Avril's style image in 2002 was a punk skater girl. The key pieces of her style were cargo pants, ties and sneakers. In 2004 she became more of a punk princess. She wore tulle skirts, combat boots, stud belts and black cargo pants. Her color scheme was usually black with red or pink. I always adored, and still do, her long natural ash toned hair with black ends, and also her black smokey eyes. In 2005 Avril dyed her hair and has been blonde ever since, sometimes with pink or green highlights. These past years she's been the punk princess, a bit of cute pop vibes with rock vibe. Her style contains a lot of pink and other bright colors, black, studs, skinny jeans, dresses and platform high heels. Even though she's still very punk pop, she can also be very elegant and chic.

Muse Of The Month: Marilyn Monroe

This month's muse doesn't need an introduction. She's a girl named Norma Jeane Baker (1.6.1926-5.8.1962) who became one of the most famous actresses and icons in the world, Marilyn Monroe.

Marilyn's style included blonde curly hair, feminine silhouette, and usually red lips. Her most iconic look is a white dress that she wore in the movie The Seven Year Itch (1955).

Many women in the world admires Marilyn's glamour style, but not all of them have seen the more natural side of her. Whether she was wearing a beautiful gown or a pair of jeans, she always looked feminine.
