Muse Of The Month: Barbie

...Come on Barbie, let's go party!

It's almost the end of April (and Vappu in Finland! Already?), but here it is - The Muse of April: a girl who's been a significant part of little girls' life since 1959.

To me, Barbie was my first fashion icon. I was born in 1995 and I have a big sister who's six years older than me, so my Barbies were from 90s to 00s, but I think we had some late 80s Barbies too, which is cool. Our collection of Barbies was really big (and still is), from typical 90s Barbies to collectors Barbies, Disney princesses, the whole collection of 1998 and 1999 Generation Girls and a lot of different fashionista Barbies from the 00s. Even though I grew up during the era when Barbie wasn't the only popular doll available, it was always my favorite.

I've loved clothes and fashion as long as I can remember, and I think Barbie is the one to blame, along the genes from my mother of course. I always loved to dress Barbies and I had a huge collection of their clothes. I even have some unique pieces that my mother's friend sew for Barbies.
Barbie's style has changed during the decades and it varies between different Barbies, but the characteristic style of Barbie is very pink, girly and colorful. Just like Jeremy Scott's Spring/Summer 2015 collection for Moschino: matchy tops and bottoms, fun prints, roller skates and bubble gum pink.

I've collected photos of toys and things I remember from my childhood to this board on Pinterest, check it out if we have some similarities -->

Nike Air Max 90

Hello there! It's been a while.
Last week I sent an application to one school that I'm pretty excited about. I had a little break from blogging, but now I'm going to bring it back to life.

I've finally got my pair of Nike Air Max trainers. My mom actually ordered them before Christmas. The cons of online shopping: sometimes you get your Christmas present on Easter. Well, at least they fit well and I like them! They are super light and comfortable, feels like walking on clouds. And, they are actually my first ever trainers!

I've been collecting patches for a while and now I feel like I have a good collection of them. Still looking for the right oversized light blue denim jacket though..

Hedi Slimane Leaves Saint Laurent

47-year-old Tunisian/French photographer and fashion designer Hedi Slimane has left Saint Laurent after four years of being the brand's creative director.
As you may know, Saint Laurent has been my favorite fashion house and Hedi Slimane is my favorite designer. The news were pretty sad to me, like to a lot of people, but I am eagerly waiting what's coming next.

Slimane took Yves Saint Laurent to another level. He made it look modern, glamorous and rock 'n' roll. His collections were very inspired by music and different eras of time, like the 70's and 80's. What we will remember from Slimane's time at Saint Laurent is the feel of luxury, skinny scarfs, leather ankle boots, glam rock vibes and the YSL muses, for example Cara Delevingne, Julia Nobis, Agyness Deyn, Julia Cumming and Saskia de Brauw.

To appreciate Hedi Slimane's amazing era at Saint Laurent Paris, I have chosen some of my favorite Saint Laurent moments between years 2012-2016.

Hedi Slimane is also a photographer. You can see his amazing work on his website: hedislimane.com

Hedi Slimane worked at Dior Homme as a creative director from 2000 to 2007.

Hedi Slimane has dressed artists such as David Bowie, Madonna, Mick Jagger and Daft Punk.

Celebrities that were often spotted in Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane: Jared Leto, Harry Styles, Angelina Jolie Pitt, Cara Delevingne, and of course my favorite -who has been wearing Hedi Slimane since Dior, Brandon Flowers.
